Gluten Free Superfood Diet!
Eight foods account for 90% of all food allergies.
They are milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, wheat, and soy.
The number of people who think they have a food allergy is much higher than
the number of actual allergy cases, because many people mistake food intolerance
for an actual food allergy.
Gluten, a protein compound from wheat and related grains, is often hidden in "emulsifiers" and
other food additives.
Lecithin may or may not contain gluten. Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein
may or may not contain gluten. Modified Food Starch is likely to contain
gluten. Unless a suspect product clearly states "gluten free",
you have no way of knowing, especially in light of all the aliases it is
commonly packaged under. We use independent third-party lab
testing for gluten free superfood diet assurance!
Reactions to gluten can be mild to very severe. That is why,
at MacrLife Naturals, all our products are 100% gluten free, for
your gluten free diet plan. You can carry our antioxidant superfood
bars with you to assure a gluten free food source wherever you go.
How to tell if you have a food allergy or a food intolerance -

A food intolerance does not usually involve the immune
system. A person may
be able to eat small portions of a particular food without any problems.
Food
Intolerance symptoms are often confused with
food
allergies, which
can cause problems when even small amounts of the offending food are consumed.
With a Food intolerance, the individual totally lacks, or has a shortage
of, an enzyme needed to digest a particular food. For example,
lactose
intolerance causes diarrhea, gas, cramping and bloating.
In either case, food intolerance or food allergy, eliminating
the offending food is the only effective treatment.
If you feel you may fall into either category try eliminating wheat and gluten
containing foods for a while and make note of any differences. You could
save yourself a lot of costly testing and diagnosis. If you still have problems,
try the "
Elimination
Diet and Food Challenge Tests". Many have allergies to more than one food.
Conditions That May Mimic a Food Allergy
- Irritable
Bowel Syndrome (IBS), is a long-term, chronic condition causing
diarrhea, constipation and/or stomach pain.
-
A person may have a food
additive sensitivity to sulfites, or other food preservatives.
-
Certain people have psychological reactions and suffer symptoms just thinking
about certain foods. The cause is unknown.
-
Celiac disease,
is a chronic digestive condition which is caused by the consumption
of gluten, in particular. Symptoms include diarrhea, stomach pains and bloating.
There is some involvement with the immune system , but it is more a case
of food intolerance than allergy, because of a complex food reaction. The
only effective treatment is a
gluten free diet.
